Vocational counseling for Persons with Mental Illness

The Freudenberg Foundation has supported a publication by Christiane Haerlin, co-founder of the National Working Group of Integration Firms (BAG-IF) and the Consulting Services for Employment and Company Projects (FAF) as well as inventor of the Vocational Training Centers for Persons with Mental Illness. The slender and easy-to-read book, which is called “Vocational Counseling for Persons with Mental Illness”, summarizes the 40 years of experience gained by these institutions. Since its publication at the beginning of 2010, the book has been widely acclaimed by professionals working in the field. For more information, click here

Within the scope of its efforts to promote the vocational integration of mentally ill persons, the Freudenberg Foundation already had sponsored the Consulting Services for Employment and Company Projects as well as the group of authors working with Christiane Haerlin in Cologne, who developed the so-called “Cologne Instruments” for vocational integration. The “Cologne Instruments” can be used in all regions of Germany as a compass and aid to understand and appropriately use the locally available rehabilitation programs.
