The „Griffbereit“ and "Rucksack" programs for promoting multi-lingualism in families and educational institutions were developed by RAA North-Rhine Westphalia in order to improve the learning results of children with an immigrant background in day-care centers, kindergartens and elementary schools by involving their parents. The further development and dissemination of „Griffbereit“ and „Rucksack“ are being accelerated by providing materials for the parents on the Internet, an expert opinion determining whether „Rucksack“ can be integrated in the elementary school curricula of the different German states,
